Welcome to Nutripilates

Where we believe anyone can feel better in their bodies everyday.

If you are new to pilates or a mum who is looking for a gentle, effective, low impact way to getting your body back in shape, Pilates can be your new sanctuary.

I believe that you don't have to feel the most athletic or toned to feel good about your body. It's all about being comfortable and confident with who you are.

I provide individual attention (and yes, even in group classes) because I care about you and your goals for your health.

And the classes become more than just classes where you don't know each other or me.

We create a community vibe within each class and we are more like family. I deeply care about what happens to you beyond the class.

If you feel like you always have to keep up with everyone else in a class, don't worry!  I tailor each class to your level so you start with where you are at.

"You don't have to be healthy and strong to start, but you have to start to be healthy and strong"

Are you interested in Pilates but unsure about going to a class?

Then you've come to the right place

Hi, I'm Sarah.  Great to meet you!

My Pilates classes are for normal people just like you.
There's no competition, no need to be stick thin, and no need to wear the latest gear.  You can just be you, safe in the knowledge that everyone else will be themselves too. You'll find it totally different to doing a Pilates class at the gym, where there are loads of people and you feel a bit intimidated being the new person going into the class, you don't really know if you're doing the exercises right as the teacher has got too many people to look after to check what you're doing and you feel like you have to be as good as everyone else.

You'll be welcomed into the class.
If you arrive 5-10 minutes early, we can have a chat before everyone else arrives and then I'll introduce you to everyone. You'll become part of our small Pilates family, and make some new friends.  Everyone is supportive of each other.  You'll get individual attention within a group class.  I watch what you're doing, correct you when you need it and advise you which level to work at that's best for you at the stage you're at.  I really listen to what you tell me so I know about any aches and pains you've got and work with you to make them better.  You'll never get bored and always feel challenged, as there's lots of variety with different exercises each week.  I show you what to do and make the exercises easy to understand and follow, so you get the best results.  I'll let you know the progress you're making, so you know you've improved week by week.

My clients joke that I'm always saying "And 4 to go".
I like to let you know how much longer you've got to go so you know when the (good) pain will end.  Apparently if I stop counting down to help someone, I'll still say "And 4 to go" even if you only had 5 to go before I stopped counting. You end up doing a few more repetitions than I had planned to do, so the (good) pain just lasts a little bit longer!

Pilates will become part of your lifestyle and you won't want to miss a class.
You don't need to do hard, intense workouts 4 x a week to get in shape.  I'll help you infuse Pilates and wellness into your life, so it just becomes something you love to do without really thinking about it.

This isn't like your normal Pilates workout at the gym

You'll feel like you're part of a family that cares about you

My Story

I haven't always been a Pilates Teacher and Nutrition Adviser.  I actually spent the first 20 years of my working life in the corporate world in Human Resources. I enjoyed it but found that over a period of time, my corporate career started to affect my health and well-being.  I was becoming exhausted by the long commute and long hours without regular breaks.  I started thinking that there must be more to life than spending every day in an office.

I also noticed that once I hit 35, my weight started gradually going up year after year, but I couldn't understand why as I thought I was eating healthily and was exercising once a week.

I often thought about what I would do instead of my HR job if the opportunity arose.  Over the years, I had developed an interest in health and well-being and felt slightly envious of friends who were doing this type of work, so I decided it would be linked to this.

In 2011, when my health started to be affected by work, I decided that I wanted to get fitter and healthier and help other people to do the same.  So, I gave up my corporate career and followed my dream by retraining as a Nutritionist and Pilates Teacher.  And created Nutripilates!

I haven't looked back.  I love my new life and feel 100 x better. I love inspiring other people to follow their dreams and am passionate about helping you to feel great too!

I'm just a normal person who came to Pilates late in life (not an ex-dancer, like lots of teachers).

I have struggled with my weight and still do due to years of stress on my adrenal system whilst in the corporate world. As a result I hold onto weight around my middle despite doing lots of exercise and healthy eating, so am working on rebalancing my hormones to resolve this.

I have a Personal Trainer, who I see 2-3 times a week to help me with my fitness as well as doing Pilates.    Here's me doing my first ever 5k run after 7 weeks training with my Personal Trainer!

I found that Pilates gave me an outlet for a less stressful life and I'm able to help other people feel better and change their lives.

If you would like to chat to me about Pilates or nutrition, please get in touch.

I look forward to hearing from you.

I trained in Pilates and Nutrition with Future Fit.  I completed the Complete Mat Pilates Diploma achieving REPS level 3 status. I have also completed ante-natal and post-natal Pilates training with Body Control.

In July 2012, I won an award from Nigel Botterill's Entrepreneur's Circle for everything I've done to set myself up as an Entrepreneur

Here I am receiving my award!
